The Knox County Fair gets underway this Sunday, July 20th and will go through next Saturday, July 26th.

Jim Shipley with the fair says there will be plenty of activities for everyone to enjoy.

“Sunday, we are going to kick it off with harness racing at 12:30 p.m. Draft horse pull will be that night at 6 p.m and the NTPA tractor and truck pull is also at 6 p.m. Monday night will be the demolition derby. Tuesday is harness racing at 7p.m. and the Broken Horn Rodeo is at 7 p.m.”

Shipley lists some other events that will take place throughout the week.

“Wednesday is the big rough truck, which is at 7 p.m. Thursday, we are having harness racing at 4 p.m. Something new this year, at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, we will have Figure 8 School Bus Racing”

Shipley says two well-known country music artists will perform Friday night.

“Two great stars, Jason Michael Carroll and Jake Owen take the stage at 8 p.m. in front of the grandstand. Tickets are available. For $20, you can get reserved tickets, and track seats are $10. All week long, the grandstand is free every night.”

Shipley explains how you can get tickets.

“If you want to, you can call the office between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. at (740) 397-0484. The girls will take care of you here in the office and get you set up with tickets.”

Shipley says the fair will also feature a lot of great food.

“We have a lot of food here. We specialize in different kinds of food. We have about 70 different trailers with not too many duplicates. So, you can come and just enjoy anything that you want to eat right here at the Knox County Fair.”

Shipley adds that entertainment will be taking place on the Midway stage all week as well.

“We will also have other entertainment on the Midway stage, and that is local entertainment. It will be every night, except for Friday night.”

Admission to the fair is $5, while children 11-years-old and under are free.
