Canadian Company is Moving Jobs to the Area

A metal and plastics manufacturer is bringing 100 new jobs to the area after deciding to close a production line.

Toronto-based Samuel Manu-Tech announced Friday that it is shutting down a plant in Scarborough, Ontario and will move it's production line to it's plant on James Parkway in Heath.

Officials say that the move will improve profitability and result in higher productivity. SMT is a value-added processor and distributor of metal industrial products and services with facilities located throughout the United States and Canada
