The Mt. Gilead Post of the State Highway Patrol reports 52-year-old Barbara Beckett of Howard died in a crash on Route 36 in Knox County after 6:30 Thursday night.

Troopers say 53-year-old Duane Gerken of Youngstown lost control of his tractor and tried to avoid a collision with the car driven by Beckett.

Gerken’s load shifted and overturned onto Beckett’s vehicle, killing her at the scene.

Alcohol is not suspected to be a factor and the accident remains under investigation.
