Residents in a Fairfield County village now have more options available to control who knocks on their door.
Officials say Canal Winchester residents may sign up for the Do- Not- Knock registry.
Residents who want to prohibit solicitors and peddlers can have their name added to the do-not-knock registry and post a village supplied decal or display their own notice as long as it meets the requirements for the ordinance.
Decals and forms for the registry can be picked up at the village’s municipal building at 36 South High Street.
The registry requires a signature so village employees are unable to sign up people over the telephone.
The village will then supply every group or individual who gets a peddler license with the list of those on the do-not-knock registry.
