Knox County officials have set a new trial date for a Utica man accused in the kidnapping of a woman in July.

Court records show 35-year-old Thomas Hartless is expected to stand trial January 19 after being indicted for abduction, kidnapping among other charges.

Back on July 17, Hartless allegedly met an ex-girlfriend in Newark.

Sometime after midnight, Hartless allegedly assaulted the woman and bound her wrists and ankles with duct tape.

After holding her against her will for several hours, the victim was released back in Newark.

Hartless was scheduled to go on trial earlier this week. The trial will be in Knox County Common Pleas Court.
