Northwest Licking County officials are thrilled with the opening of the new Johnstown Kroger this afternoon.

Kroger built a new 74,400 square foot store at 800 W. Coshocton Street. Kroger has been working to hire more than one hundred people to work in their store and fuel center.

Other new businesses are coming to the Kyber Run shopping center.

Store officials say the new store will use around 25 percent less energy by using skylights which reduces the number of light fixtures.

A portion of total sales tomorrow night will benefit the Johnstown Local School Education Foundation and on Thursday, Northridge Local Schools will be benefit from sales 8 p.m. to midnight.

The grand opening will be at 4 p.m. today.
