One man is dead and another hospitalized after a poison gas leak in Guernsey County.

Firefighters from the Antrim Department in Freeport found a work crew suffering from poison gas inhalation after trying to shut down a natural gas well.

Officials say the crew came across a pocket of hydrogen sulfide and the first man fell to the ground.

The man died at Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center and another worker was flown to a Columbus hospital. Other workers are receiving treatment.

Names have not been released.
