50-year-old James Chatfield of Columbus was convicted earlier this year on several theft charges.

Chatfield and another man were accused of breaking into several Thornville businesses in October and November 2007.

Christopher Carter of Columbus pleaded guilty to charges against him and is spending two years in prison.
