On Monday, Newark City Council’s Economic Development Committee agreed to give support to the Babe Ruth World Series.
However, no decision on how to support it has been made.
Representatives, for the first time, are asking for $45,000 to pay for expenses and keep the Series running.
Without the Series, people are scared that the Babe Ruth League Inc. wont keep Don Edwards Park.
Mayor Bob Diebold is considering increasing the county’s bed tax and giving some of the income toward Babe Ruth
